Scooter is here to help with this simple guide to picking your own peaches and apples at Scooter's Farm of Woodmont

Due to our major orchard renovation relating to the organic transition, we’ve temporarily downsized our pick-your-own block which now includes one acre of old-fashioned, full-sized Cortland and McIntosh apple trees and half an acre of yellow peaches.   We’ve also recently planted table grapes and 26 different varieties of newer apples that will be in production in the summer of 2021. Whether it's just you or the whole family, come out and enjoy the beautiful fall weather New Hampshire has to offer in one of the most iconic orchard settings in the Northeast.

Scooter’s Tips & Tricks

• Each row of Cortland apples — identified by smooth bark on their trunks (like a birch tree) — is followed by two rows of McIntosh.

• Be picky!! -Because of organic program, some fruit have blemishes. With that said, there are still many high quality fruit easily found with a little patience, especially in the interior of the orchard.

• To keep one bad apple from spoiling your bunch, pick them properly from the trees by rotating each apple upward and then twist slightly. Pulling fruit from the tree can cause injury to your apples by breaking the stems, making them prone to perishing quickly.

• Scooter says he’s sorry, but due to federal food safety rules pets are not allowed in the Orchard.

• Feel free to give feedback or report issues here.
